Final credits

Dear members and friends of the Gerhard Küntscher Society,

In 2019 the Osteosynthese International Annual Meeting of the Gerard Küntscher Society will take place in Sibiu, Romania, between 12th to 14th of September.

We invite you to attend this conference which will be held in the wonderful surrounding of the historical city of Sibiu founded by saxon settelers about 1000 years ago.

Sibiu is also the former European Cultural Capital, located in the heart of Romania, next to the Carpathian Mountains.

We chose this city due to its rich history and historical monuments, the natural surroundings and at the same time its availability of good and modern meeting facilities only at a  8’ trip from the airport.

We are happy to host this meeting to bring together dedicated trauma surgeons from east and west Europe but also from All over the world.

This year topics will be:

,, The role of nailing in preventing or treatment of nonunion of fractures ‘’.

Since the nonunion is still a challenge in this era we think this debate will improve our knowledge and experience. Comparing the experience of different regions and orthopedic schools will bring us together more closer to ideal solution of this problem.

The second topic of the conference is: ‘’ The place of nailing in forearm fractures.’’ This is still a controversial topic. The most of the surgeons prefer the plating of  the forearm, but a lot of data suggest that the nailing is a very good option with its multitude of advantages.

We will be focused on additional subjects like: ‘’ The place of nailing in the management of Osteomyelitis; State of the Art lectures about Femur, Tibia and Humerus Nailing; Varia – New Implants, New Techniques.’’

We welcome you, beginners or experienced trauma surgeons, to share or receive experience in this fabulous field of traumatology.

At the same time we expect you both, “nailers” and “platers” to have a constructive debate about choosing the type of  implant, both colleagues with many years of professional experience and those, who have just started their professional careers.

We all wish you an interesting scientific event but in the same time you will enjoy the traditional hospitality of our country.

Looking forward to welcoming you in Sibiu
